Tackling air pollution in Ghana (Africa) – what you should know || Collins Gameli Hodoli

Collins Gameli Hodoli is a curious environmental scientist with a passion for environmental sustainability and public health protection. A Pan African whose research interest cuts across DIY and IoT approaches to revolutionize air quality monitoring in Ghana and wider Africa. He holds a PhD in Environment and Agrifood (Environmental Technology); published in peer-reviewed journals, and offered thoughts on the usefulness of meaningful open-source air quality data to engage, educate and empower African citizens on the health-damaging impacts of air pollution.

He is the founder and director of Operations for Clean Air One Atmosphere (CAOA) – a non-profit he founded during the first year of his PhD studies at Cranfield University, UK. To the best of his knowledge, CAOA is the first organisation in Africa to have built and launched a flagship mobile application that meaningfully communicates air quality data which also includes population health surveillance data to support air pollution health effects studies. His work cuts across air pollution research in West Africa.
