Rafael Monge Vargas is an economist with broad experience in different fields related to environmental information. He is working with the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica as Director of the National Center of Geoenvironmental Information. They coordinate the National System of Environmental Information and the National Land Use, Land Cover and Ecosystems Monitoring System. He was part of the team that produced and published the first State of the Environment Report of Costa Rica in 2018.
