Katrin Pütz joined me on the podcast to discuss her amazing sustainable cooking energy solutions with (B)energy. We talked about the problem or loopholes in the cooking-energy industries and the solutions (B)energy brings on board. Katrin is very passionate about what she does and I encourage you to listen and share this episode.

Katrin’s aim with (B)energy is to make biogas in the global South independent of development aid. This became possible with the biogas backpack that I developed at Hohenheim University, Germany in 2010 for this purpose: making biogas profitable. After 3 years of research and piloting in collaboration with Addis Abeba University, Ethiopia complete mobile biogas set in combination with a business concept was ready for implementation. She started (B)energy in 2014 to make the results available to the market. Today, (B)energy is a social business that does more than biogas technology. They are a growing network of international partners, who work on creating the market for biogas as business, try to change mentalities in terms of aid dependency and new economy and are advocates for the “economy for the common good” – movement.
