There’s Rubbish in Space? The European Space Agency’s efforts on sustainability in space

Tim Flohrer leads ESA’s Space Debris Office since 2020. Working on space debris matters since 2001, he joined the office as an engineer in 2007. He is working for ESA’s Space Safety Programme and leads activities addressing the development of technologies for monitoring the space debris environment and related risk assessments. He is responsible for operational collision avoidance activities, for re-entry predictions, and for providing satellite missions in all phases with space debris mitigation analyses.
